Year 2

Welcome to Year 2!

Year 2 is an engaging and happy environment where children enjoy their learning working alongside their peers and their teachers. We have high expectations and offer support where necessary so that all children are able to reach their full potential.

Our Teachers are Miss Ijaz, Mr Bullock, Mr Whatley, Mrs Ahmed, Mrs R Begum, Miss S Begum and Mrs S Hussain.

Teaching and learning will be aimed at ensuring children are fully prepared to complete their SATS in Reading and Maths.

The children are able to study a range of exciting topics during the course of the year including:

  • Do Pirates Exist?
  • Who looks after our Community?
  • How is Mud made?
  • Can seeds grow anywhere?
  • What’s it like being a worm?

Religious Education (RE) at Arden is aimed at develops an understanding of 24 different dispositions, which embrace all religions and recognise the children’s own religious experiences.

PE lessons take place on Tuesday and Wednesday each week so please remember your PE kit.

Please bring your school reading bag each day as various work and books will be sent home during different days in the week. In your reading bags you will have two reading books; one is a phonic related book and the other is a library book you can enjoy with a parent/carer. Please fill in your diary log books as this is a great way to communicate with teachers about reading.

We look forward to working with you throughout the year.
